So Jon Lewis’ tenure in charge is looking less and less convincing now. It’s starting to unravel, and he is showing signs of someone out of control with no idea how to get the England team back on track:
Failure to fix what he originally set out to do in terms of player communication on the field
Always blaming the players or even ex-players for anything that goes wrong and not taking responsibility for performances
Failure to fix the ongoing captaincy succession situation
Has not really developed players, especially the batters. Most England batters look fragile, out of nick and in need of help
Expects players to fix their own problems and does not help them to do so
There appears to be no strategy for the long-term structure of the side
Generally just too hands-off and disconnected from the reality of the group or what they are up to on and off the field
Ridiculous double U-turns on Capsey in T20 squad- she’s in, out, in again!
Remarkable lack of self-awareness – Has no idea he’s in trouble nor how bad things look from the outside!
An average coach who has not achieved much in the women’s game. The only conclusion is LEWIS OUT!
The sentiment will only grow unless he changes things and starts to fix the issues highlighted above.
