Despite the series loss, it would a desperate move to select a young inexperienced Scrivens as captain. There are a number of very experienced players in the team and Scrivens is not even in the squad, are you sure she would be able to justify her place. Also, watching Scrivens for the Renegades this season she also looked to have fitness issues.
As a silver lining, even if England were to lose the Test match and therefore lose 7 matches in a row, that won’t be a record sequence of losses.
As far as I can tell, that record is 9 (4 ODI losses to Australia between 29/1/2000 and 3/2/2000 followed by 5 ODI losses to New Zealand between 12/2/2000 and 22/2/2000) – another candidate for the tour from hell.
I think the last time England lost 7 matches in a row was a Test against India (Aug 2006) followed by ODI defeats in Feb/Mar 2007 to India, New Zealand, Australia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
I can’t understand why you both continue to criticise England captain Heather Knight to the degree that you do.
She has scored the most runs of any England player, and the second most runs of any player in the series to date.
She almost won the Canberra T20 off her own bat and (though highly unlikely) may have done so, if not for the rain.
She has fronted up to every post match television interview and conducted herself with grace and dignity, which is a lot more than Sophie Ecclestone could do.
If you want to single anyone one, you might want to start with Ecclestone. She is not just unfit, she is overweight, and she is setting a very poor example to those she is supposed to ‘inspire and entertain.’

Knight has had to deal with a sequence of 6 losses as captain before (verses Australia on 3rd, 6th, 8th Feb 2022, followed by Australia 5/3/22, West Indies 9/3/22 and South Africa 14/3/22)
The above sequence followed a set of 4 matches in which there was no win : 3 T20s Australia 20th (lost), 22nd (no result) & 23rd (didn’t even start) Jan 2022 and a drawn Test in Jan 2022.
