We seem to have two problems that might benefit from one solution.
Scotland have no matches
England have so many players they can’t fit them all into their team
Answer : Could England not have played two series more or less simultaneously; one against Scotland and one against West Indies (cost presumably may be an issue)
I know this might be considered an insult to their opponents, but, in the round, would everyone benefit ?
Rather belatedly, but one pity about the squad rotation in this 3rd ODI is that it broke Beaumont’s England record of 106 continuous ODIs (stretching back to England’s 312nd ODI on 21st June 2016 against Pakistan.
The Ireland tour last year, which Beaumont was on, has meant that no one is remotely close to breaking this (most England player were elsewhere) – the current longest continuous ODI cap sequence is a mere 9, so Beaumont going to keep that record for a long time.
