Strange to hear such a negative reaction to your opinion on Knights retirement.
We all knew this was coming, pretty much as soon as she lost the captaincy and given there was this clear end to the English cricket summer she could have made this announcement 6 months ago.
Especially with the “it felt right to me” comment, when you’re 250+ runs behind and looking to have to bat possibly 2 days which you’ve never done before…
I would like to add that the Lord’s test also just felt more like an event rather than a competitive game for England. Because of all the first. India clearly wanted to win this test and England were just pleased to be there and get all the attention. Or maybe it was just the hangover from the world cup that gave that impression. As Lottie said, everything this summer was on that world cup.
