I’m loving the WPL so far! It’s been brilliant to see the spectacle of it all and there have been some classic matches already, today’s (13 Mar) was particularly close as well.
It’s great to see Lottie’s side, MI, doing so well, their batting has been going like a steam train so far and their bowling and fielding also excellent. I think we are seeing how England could have 2 good T20 opening bowlers in NSB & Wong. Nat Sciver-Brunt has been absolutely superb throughout. And Harmanpreet has been unbelievable too, she’s been beaming a lot lately!
Delhi Capitals are also excellent, Capsey has been really good and those 2 sides look like early finalists to me.
UPW have also been good at times although they had a shaky start. A lot of potential in that team though.
It’s gone a bit wrong for both RCB and GG so far unfortunately. GG have made a lot of strange tactical and selection decisions which seem to have been misplaced. Why Dunkley doesn’t play every match is anyone’s guess. Unlucky what happened to Mooney and Gardner hasn’t fired yet. And RCB have been unlucky too, although their bowling seems weaker and more expensive than the other sides. Knight looked like their best bowler at times! Not quite sure what’s gone wrong there. Thakur and Mandhana finding it tough right now! Hopefully both RCB & GG can pick up another win or two, I’d hate to see a sort of “Welsh Fire” season unfold for them.
