  1. The media stories about the Hundred only seem to agree on one thing – it won’t exist in its current form in the long term. There’s so many suggestions as to what might replace it that maybe we just wait and see what happens. It may be the case that it’s simply replaced by an 8-city T20 tournament that can easily be replicated in the women’s game. Or it may be the case that in a few years, a standalone women’s Hundred is viable, with no need for double headers. As followers of women’s cricket, we can’t force fans of men’s cricket to fall into line – they are entitled to their own opinions just as anyone else is. I’m also a long standing fan of men’s county cricket, having supported Lancashire since the 1980s, and from that point of view, I hate the Hundred because of the adverse impact it’s had on men’s county cricket. We certainly can’t say to anyone ‘the Hundred is good for women’s cricket, so you’ll just have to put up with it.’
